Gulmarg, August 2(KNS): The Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) has directed the Assistant Director of Tourism in Gulmarg to take over the possession of Hotel Nedou’s and the land attached to it, which is currently under unauthorised occupation.
The move follows orders from the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir. The Supreme Court had earlier dismissed a petition related to the hotel, while the High Court had ordered that the property be returned to the government.
In a letter issued by the Chief Executive Officer of GDA, a copy of which lies with the KNS, the Assistant Director Tourism has been asked to evict the current occupants and hand over the property to the GDA within 24 hours.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Tourism Department had earlier granted the Assistant Director Tourism the powers of an Estate Officer under the J&K Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorized Occupants) Act, 1988, for all tourism properties in Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipora districts.(KNS).
