‘We will carry forward mission of late Gayoor’

Srinagar, Oct 21 (KNS): Gayoor Cultural and Developmental Foundation observed the 11th death anniversary of Syed Ghulam Rasool Gayoor by the officer bearers to pay tributes to the late leader.
Held under the chairmanship of Mir Ghulam Rasool, the meeting, attended by office bearers, highlighted the role of Gayoor as a social, political, religious and scholarly leader.
Besides the chairman, General Secretary Nazir Ahmad Ganaie, Patron Showkat Gayoor, Ghulam Hassan Kuchay vice president, Media advisor Mir Farhat, Showkat Ahmad Hakeem, Mohammad Qasim Tahir advisor and other office bearers were present in the meeting.
As per chief spokesman of the GCDF, Hussain Hussaini, the office bearers discussed the objectives of the formation of the Foundation and vowed to carry forward the cultural and harmonious work for Jammu and Kashmir of late Gayoor which he would insist upon during his life.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
"We formed the GCDF to carry forward the mission of late Gayoor to work for the welfare and development of the people. Our main areas of work will be culture, social, and other scholarly activities," the spokesman said, quoting its chairman in the meeting.
"We will seek cooperation of all NGOs and social groups for the welfare of people and cultures in the valley, especially for Kashmiriyat," Hussaini said, adding, "giving boost to literary contribution of poets and writers will be always our focus."
The meeting ended with congregational prayers for the soul of late Gayoor, who was killed on October 22, 2005, at his native village in Ratnipora in Pulwama district. (KNS)
