Srinagar,Nov 04 (KNS):A deputation of a renowned Gayoor foundation headed by it's president Er Showkat Gayoor met here today secretary Jammu & Kashmir academy of art, culture and languages Mr Muneer-ul-Islam at his Lal Mandi office.
According to statement issued to KNS,Among others Kaleem Bashir Ahmad, General secretary Gayoor foundation was also part of the deputation. Different issues ralated to our art, culture & literature were taken on board & discussed one by one. General Secretary Kaleem Bashir Ahmad produced a memorandum which had recently been passed in Gayoor foundation executive committee meeting on 1st November 2020, at Pampore Pulwama. It was also decided in the meeting that a proposal be moved & placed to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir for construction of a cultural haal at Pulwama in the name of a famous Sufi poet " Sona Mir " & should be named as " Sona Mir memorial cultural Haal Pulwama". In this regard a representation was made by the foundation before Secretary J&K academy of art, culture and languages Mr Muneer-ul-Islam today. The President Gayoor Foundation Er Showkat Gayoor gave a detailed background of Sufi Poet Sona Mir, who had been a stalwart of literature & poetry, a genious & a social reformer from village Ratnipora Pulwama, whose contributions will be remembered all over.
Er Showkat Gayoor said that it would be a great pride for whole of the society in general & people of Ratnipora in particular, if "Sona Mir memorial Cultural haal" is established in Pulwama.(KNS)
