Srinagar, Jan 25 (KNS): A 16-year-old girl of Varnov Lolab Kupwara today succumbed to her burn injuries she had received  after a fire broke out because of cooking gas leakage  in her home, in, Varnov Lolab on Monday evening.

Her relatives informed "Kashmir News Service" (KNS), that deceased girl was busy in cooking when the fire broke out due to gas leakage. She suffered serious burn injuries in the incident.

"The girl was immediately shifeted to DH Kupwara and from there to SKIMS Srinagar and was declared dead on arrival there," they said.

Police identified the dead girl as Masrat Bano daughter of Ghulam Rasool Tantry of Varnov Lolab of Kupwara

 “When she screamed for help, her three relatives went to save her and in the process suffered burns. Some neighbours rescued her, said a police officer.(KNS)
