Srinagar, Mar 24 (KNS): Counsel for Jammu Kashmir Democratic Liberation Party (JKDLP) chairman Hashim Qureshi who is accused in Ganga Hijacking case argued before the court that his client can’t be perused again under double jeopardy, the party said.
According to the DLP, the last hearing of the case was held six months.
The case was not heard since then as the Judge who was hearing this case earlier was changed, DLP chairman Hashim Qureshi told KNS.
Party said that the senior Advocate, Riyaz Jan presented references of international law regarding the double jeopardy and argued that his client can’t be perused again under double jeopardy.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
DLP further said that that some papers related to the case were damaged in 2014 floods following which the next hearing of the case was fixed for April 21, 2018.
It said that Hashim Qureshi was not present in the court today while he will appear on the next hearing of the case. (KNS)
