Ganderbal Police Recover Abducted Native Girl from Himachal Pradesh

Ganderbal ,6 Nov (KNS) : In a significant success, Ganderbal Police have arrested a kidnapper and successfully rescued the abducted girl, following a swift and well-coordinated operation, officials said.

“Acting on specific intelligence and under the directions of SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal, a dedicated police team from Police Post Shadipora traced and apprehended the accused, Firdous Rustum Khan, son of Rustum Ali Khan, resident of Shatigam, Handwara, from the state of Himachal Pradesh,” said an official.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused, who is already married with two children, had been exploiting social media and other online platforms to establish contact with and lure potential victims,” the official said, adding, “His deceptive use of online communication channels underscores the growing risks associated with unverified digital interactions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“After completing all necessary medico-legal formalities, the rescued girl was safely reunited with her family. A case, FIR No. 185/2025, under relevant provisions of law, has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation is currently underway.”

The Police have urged the public, especially young individuals, to exercise caution while engaging with unknown persons on social media, and to promptly report any suspicious activity or online exploitation attempts to the nearest police station or through official J&K Police communication channels.(KNS)
