GANDERBAL, AUGUST 25 (KNS): In a continued effort to boost community engagement and address public concerns, Ganderbal Police on Monday organized a ‘Thana Diwas’ event at JKTDC Sonamarg under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sonamarg. The event was presided over by SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS and witnessed the presence of other senior police officers from the district.

The program saw active participation from a wide section of society including respectable citizens, community elders, farmers, representatives of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, teachers, traders, and various other stakeholders.

During the session, SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS attentively listened to the grievances and issues raised by the attendees. Addressing the gathering, SSP Poswal assured that Ganderbal Police remains committed to being accessible and responsive to public grievances related to policing. Highlighting the department's firm stand, SSP Ganderbal reiterated the Zero Tolerance Policy of Ganderbal Police towards the drug menace. He urged community members to cooperate and share any information regarding drug-related activities in their localities, assuring swift and strict action.

He further called upon the public to support the police in maintaining peace and order in the area, while also playing a proactive role in identifying anti-national and anti-social elements that attempt to disturb the region’s harmony.

Participants expressed appreciation for the interactive nature of the event, terming it a valuable initiative to build trust and cooperation between the police and the public.
