‘India using judiciary to crush freedom sentiments’

Srinagar, Feb 09 (KNS): Paying tributes to Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Muhammad Afzal Guroo, senior Hurriyat leader Ghulam Nabi Waseem on Thursday said that besides pursuing ‘oppressive and suppressive policies’, India is using judiciary to crush the freedom sentiments of people of Kashmir.
In a statement issued to KNS, Waseem said, “Awarding death sentence to Kulgam youth Muzaffar Ahmed Rather vindicates our stand that India has been using judiciary as a tool to suppress people of Kashmir.”
Waseem said, “Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat was a force to reckon with who infused the spirit of freedom among people of Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
He said that both Bhat and Guroo gave new direction to the freedom struggle and have emerged as the heroes for Kashmiri youths.
Holding the then Congress party responsible for the hanging of Guroo, Waseem said, “His execution before 2014 elections, not only wiped out Congress but also lifted the spirited of Kashmir freedom struggle. The hangings of Bhat and Guroo are two black chapters of Indian judiciary which people of Kashmir will never forget,” he said and added that Kashmir as a nation will never forget the sacrifices of martyrs.
