G.M.Shaheen expresses anguish over the rising unemployment graph

Srinagar, February 11 (KNS): Janata Dal United President for Jammu and Kashmir GM Shaheen Wednesday expressed deep anguish over the behavior of authorities at NIT Srinagar that barred job aspirants from appearing in the examination yesterday.

As per the statement issued to KNS, While addressing a press conference here in Kashmir capital Srinagar, GM  Shaheen said that at a time when unemployment syndrome has engulfed Jammu and Kashmir, some officials are hell bent to deprive deserved candidates from securing government jobs. He said despite court orders; no admit cards were issued in favour of job aspirants who were supposed to appear in the examination of Assistant Professors. 

He said these posts were advertised at a time when there was internet shutdown. GM Shaheen also raised questions over the behavior of incumbent Director NIT and sought intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.   

The JDU President also expressed anguish over the tonga ban in North Kashmir’s Sopore town. He said it is the responsibility of the government to ensure a better living for the tongawallas who have become jobless due to government decision. 

“Tongas were plying in Sopore town from centuries and now government has decided to ban these tongas. It is sheer injustice and due to this decision hundreds of tongawallas have become jobless,” he said and appealed Baramulla administration to ensure jobs for these idle tongawallas without any delay.   

GM  Shaheen also appealed SMC Srinagar and other Municipal Committees to remove snow mounds from footpaths and sidewalks so to ensure free movement of pedestrians.   

He also asked party workers to maintain discipline and work in the interest of the party as well as people.(KNS)
