Stating that the GB Pant Hospital has adequate staff and infrastructure at par with any national paediatric Institute, Medical Superintendent G.B. Pant Hospital said the news items regarding the shortage of doctors in the hospital was not only “vague but also factually incorrect”.
“We have state of art our neonatal and paediatric intensive care unit equipped with modern gadgetry. Our hospital has hi-tech laboratory and provides free drugs to the neonates,” he said.
“G B Pant Hospital has much lower infant mortality rate than natural infant mortality rate.”
He said the “misinformation” about GB Pant Hospital has created quos and confusion among general masses.

The Staff strength for 135 bedded GB Pant Hospital (presently functioning 198 beds) has eight Administrative Staff, 73 doctors, 116 Nursing Staff, 67 Nursing Orderly, and 37 Sanitation Staff.
“This staff strength is sufficient and infact more that what is required for 135 bedded hospital as per standard,” he added. (KNS)
