Banihal, Aug 09 (KNS): Terming BJP and their alliance partner PDP's ploy to wipe out State Subject law in Jammu & Kashmir as unacceptable, National Conference leader and District President, Ramban Sajjad Shaheen said that any fiddling with Article 35-A or Article 370 will be seen as an assault on the identity & Autonomy of Jammu & Kashmir.
He said that tinkering with Article 35-A could take away the right of State Subject Certificate, which otherwise, was protecting the distinct identity of the state. " State's special status is non negotiable and formed the only constitutional and legal bridge of accession between Jammu & Kashmir and rest of the Country ," he said.
Asking the PDP to come clear on the issue, the NC leader targeted the PDP for changing the "Goalposts" alleging that failing completely in implementing Agenda of Alliance , it seems that PDP has decided to facilitate the long cherished desire of its alliance partner BJP and is realizing the old dream of Bhartiya Jana Sangh founder, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee to circumvent and sub vent the Constitution of the State and attributes of Article 370.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that the deliberate callousness shown by Mehbooba Mufti led Government indicated the tacit connivance of PDP in allowing the Step-by-step erosion of Article 370 through a series of Politically Patronized cases and litigations.
Shaheen said that NC won't allow anyone to toy around with Article 35 A or Article 370 and will continue to defend it. "National Conference has rendered innumerable sacrifices, both in terms of ultimate sacrifices of lives and in terms of power to safeguard J&K's special status and the Party has been a custodian of the Aspirations and Identity of the people of the state and it will continue to stand and oppose all attempts to trivialize and undermine our special status in future", Shaheen said.
On this occasion a Prominent PDP worker and a Renowned Contractor Ghulam Mohd Najjar joined National Conference and was welcomed into the Party fold by the District president. The new entrant resolved to work with dedication and Vigour to Strengthen the Party. (KNS)
