Srinagar, Dec 23 (KNS): Senior BJP leader and party's spokesman Altaf Thakur today said that from the menace of terrorism to the tourism bloom, J&K has travelled a long distance and today every face is smiling and people living in a free atmosphere.
In a statement issued KNS, Thakur said that after August 5, 2019, security agencies under the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah started a 360 degree approach to wipe out terror from the J&K soil and today terrorism is on its death bed as local terrorist recruitment has come to zeero, street violence has vanished, law and order issues have also touched zero and killings of security forces and civilians on roads and encounters has also dipped to below 10 percent. Thakur siad however, efforts are on to foment trouble from across as Pakistan continues to send infiltrators who attack forces as seen in Poonch and Rajouri but those infiltrators will be taken to task aa seen recently.
Brave soldiers are showing exemplary courage to root out the menace of terrorism from JK soil. Thakur said as terrorism started to breathe it's last, tourism started to bloom in JK and in last two years over 4 Cr tourists visited the the region. Today, Gulmarg and Pahalgam have been 'sold out' fully on Christmas and New Year. The number of foreign tourists has gone up as over 55000 foreigners have dated Kashmir so far. JK has completed this journey in just 3 years and today we can proudly say that from terrorism to Tourism, JK is touching new heights.(KNS)
