Srinagar, Aug 05 (KNS): More than two years after introducing Kashmir's first Buisness Processing outsourcing in Bandipora and voice and internet accessibility to Kashmir's one of the remotest border area Gurez, Shahid Choudhary's tenure as District Development Commissioner Bandipora eased the concerns of unemployment among youth and online education.

During Shahid Choudhary's tenure as DC, he introduced Kashmir's first ever Rural BPO that is providing jobs to hundreds of youths of the district.

Since it's establishment, 342 youths of the District have been trained in IT-enabled skills among which are 82 girls.Besides 114 youths including 72 boys and 46 girls are currently working in the BPO.

Faisal Manzoor, who has been working in the said BPO since it's establishment said that the initiation of this BPO by the then Deputy Commissioner Shahid has proven revolutionary step in tackling somehow the problem of growing unemployment in District.

This BPO was  first initiative of its kind taken by the District Administration of Bandipora under the supervision of then Deputy Commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary aimed to create business opportunities for educated youth in private sector especially in Bandipora where there are less opportunities for educated youth in Government sector.

The 4G internet in Gurez is also believed to be revolutionary step taken by Shahid during his tenure as Bandipora's Deputy Commissioner which helped somehow in tackling the Online education issue in this remotest valley.

"High speed internet has turned out to be a boon for us amid the Covid Pandemic in helping us continue our studies online," Aaqib, a local student said.

Gurez has also seen an abrupt spike in the number of tourists. Since the launch of high speed internet, photographs and videos surfacing online have lead to the valley coming into limelight, said Nowshad running a restuarant in Gurez.

"We are grateful to the sincere efforts of former DC Bandipora Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary for initiating the launch of high speed internet for Gurez. This facility has benefitted the people in many ways," said Hilal, a hotel owner.

Many locals of the District believe that the during the tenure of Shahid Iqbal Choudhary as District Devlopment Commissioner Bandipora, the initiation of a Rural BPO set up in DC office complex in Bandipora somehow lead to the solving of unemployment concerns and the 4G internet accessibility to Gurez valley eased problems related to online education.(KNS)
