Srinagar, Jun 08 (KNS): Fresh and Dry Fruit Growers Forum Kashmir Wednesday staged protest against the government for failing to provide compensation to them after suffering huge loss due to hailstorm.
The fresh and dry fruit growers form assembled at Regal Chowk and marched towards Srinagar’s press enclave while chanting slogans against the government.
They were demanding compensation and 100 per cent subsidy to the fresh and dry fruit growers.
The forum members told KNS that their fruits got damaged due to hailstorm thereby are suffering immense hardships. “We appeal the state administration to look into our sufferings and redress the sufferings of people at earliest,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They also demanded that the government should also take serious note on those who are selling ‘irrelevant pesticides’. “The authorities should impose ban on the business of the people selling irrelevant pesticides,” they said.
They later appealed Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to intervene into the matter and redress their genuine demands at earliest, adding, “We hope our demands will be fulfilled soon,” the forum members said. (KNS)
