Srinagar, Feb 01 (KNS): Despite the tall claims of the government that various steps have been taken to streamline traffic in Srinagar, the city witness massive traffic jams day-to-day leaving thousands of people stuck for hours.
Accusing the traffic department of ignoring the issue, residents of the city especially Batamaloo, Qamarwari, Bemina, Habba Kadal and Maharja Bazar said traffic department have failed to streamline the flow of vehicles.
The locals told KNS that the traffic jams have been on rise on the city roads and in the interior connecting roads horns disturbs our child’s during their studies.
Pedestrians who walk in the interior roads said the frequent traffic jams happen due to improper functioning of traffic lights, the snail’s pace of vehicular moments and blamed Traffic authorities’ for failing to regulate the flow.

Business establishments at Pratap Park and Hari Singh High Street said: “Without caring for flow of traffic mini buses resort repeated, unnecessary stop and snail’s pace also trigger jams.”
The minibuses which ply on different routes in Srinagar city have become a annoyance for the passengers as they move on snail’s pace that not only wastes their precious time but cause of frequent traffic jams.
Students, employees, Business establishments and patients are the worst sufferers of this problem.
A student Junaid Ahmad Khan, who travels daily in a bus from Teing Pora to Soura, said: “The snail’s pace of minibuses not only wastes my precious time but I fail to reach tuitions on time.” (KNS)
