Srinagar, Oct 12 (KNS): The Democratic Freedom Party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah Monday talked on phone with the victims of Udhamper attack victims. He expressed solidarity with them and prayed for their speedy recovery.
In a statement to KNS, a DFP delegation led by Er Farooq Ahmad Khan and Manzoor Ahmad Gazi visited Wuranhall Islamabad and expressed solidarity with the families of victims Showkat Ahmad Dar, Zahid Ahmad Dar and Rameez Ahmad Bhat who were attacked by goons in Udhampur.
While in continuous detention Shah also talked with the family members of victims and assured them that the whole nation is with them.
Expressing strong resentment over the growing communal activities in Jammu province particularly in Udhampur, Shabir Ahmad Shah said they are playing with fire. "These fascist and communal elements must bear in mind that for with which they are playing will ultimately engulf them too," Shah said.
Holding the state administration responsible for the rising communal tensions, Shah said the government is not taking any action against them "just for some political and personal motives" and they are giving a clean chit to these forces. "It's very unfortunate that government is unable to take any action against those hell bent upon dividing the state on communal lines," he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The DFP chairman said the administration is responsible for the loss of properties to outside valley traders particularly transporters. He said if authorities will not act in an impartial way in dealing with such cases, it will encourage these elements. He said the Indian agencies and local police are arresting the innocent children whenever any clashes take place in the valley but are maintaining criminal silence over the Udhampur incident. "Where is biased Indian media and so called police when such murderous attacks on Muslims take place," he said.
Meanwhile, Shabir Ahmad Shah strongly condemned the nocturnal raids on party activists across the state particularly in Islamabad. “The police without any provocation arrested Er Farooq Ahmad Khan and other DFP activists during the intervening night of 11 and 12 October and harassed the local people there," Shah said.
He also said that those party activists Abdul Waheed, Naseer Ahmad, Muhammad Shafi and others arrested on the eve of Eid continue to be lodged in police stations despite court ordering their bails. “This is nothing but the frustration of the so called government," Shah added. (KNS)
