Freedom movement a holy mission for us: Moulana Tari

Inaugurates party’s Budgam office, criticizes state admin for arrest of leaders, slapping of PSAs

Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) secretary general Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari Tuesday said the freedom movement of Kashmir “is a holy mission for us and we’ll continue to raise voice for such mission in a peaceful manner.” He reiterated that Kashmir is a political issue which needs to be resolved through implementation of UN resolutions or tripartite dialogue.
Tari was speaking to party cadres while inaugurating the Budgam office and was accompanied by Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, district Budgam president Abdul Gani and others. He said to strive and stand for truth is part of our faith and stressed the members to continue the struggle of freedom till last breath.
Moulana Tari while stressing the party workers to consolidate the public relations at grassroots level said they should encourage people not to lose hope as world nations are coming forward to resolve the lingering dispute of the subcontinent.
He severely criticized the state government for keeping chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah under continuous house arrest. “Keeping Shah under house arrest is in no way a positive step in resolving the conflict but will create a political void. Authorities are putting undue restrictions on the movements of Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani and he’s also continuously placed under house arrest which is extremely condemnable.”
DFP secretary general while reminding the present ruling party of raising hue and cry and chest thumping during its period in opposition over the same restrictions said the Mufti led government’s all claims proved to be hollow and deceptive.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe welcomed the Pakistani assembly acting Murtaza Javaid Abbasi’s statement related to Kashmir issue said Pakistan always supported our cause, as a well-wisher nation.
Moulana Tari also vehemently came down on administration over re-arresting Muslim League chairman Masarat Alam Bhat and slapping of 6th PSA on Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, terming it “state terrorism”. “Such treatment to political opponents cannot be found in any part of the world except in this so-called largest democracy. India and its local collaborators should compare their approach of dealing with political opponents, with those of European nations and see how freedom of speech and expression works there.”
Appealing international human rights bodies to take serious cognizance of violations of prisoners’ rights in J&K jails, Tari said they should hold Indian authorities accountable for their crimes. He also accused India of pushing the subcontinent to the brink of war.
Tari also lauded the statement of Ameer-e-Jamaat-e-Islami Jenab Ghulam Muhammad Bhat and said we have same expectations from all religious and pro-freedom parties and hope they will fulfill their responsibilities with regard to freedom movement. (KNS)
