Fraudster arrested for collecting money for issuing digital door number plates in Sgr: Police

 
Srinagar, Mar 16 (KNS): Srinagar police on Wednesday said that it arrested a fraudster for collecting money from public in order to issue digital door number plates. 
 
In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that today Police station Bemina recieved a written complaint from project manager GeoVista Technologies pvt limited stating therein that they have been assigned the task of conducting door to door survey to facilitate Digital door numbering plates to individual households in Srinagar city. 
 
“However, it came to notice that some fraudsters are collecting Rs 100 from households for issuing the said Digital numbering plates. The said agency has not authorised any individual to collect the money as the project is free of cost and this mischief is being done to disrepute their company and Srinagar smart City project etc,” reads that statement.
 
It reads that on receipt of this complaint Case under Fir no.13/2022 u/s 419,420 of IPC was registered at P/S Bemina and investigation was set into motion. 
 
“During the course of investigation, police team succeeded in identifying the main accused person namely Munawar Rashid khushoo S/o Rashid Ahmad khushoo R/o Firdous colony Bemina who has been arrested in the instant case. More arrests in the case are expected,” it reads. 
 
It further reads that general public is requested to be vigilant and report any suspicious or fraudulent activity noticed. (KNS)
