Srinagar, Jan 19 (KNS): On the directions of Shabir Ahmad Shah, a delegation of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Tuesday participated in the funeral in absentia of Shaheed Manzoor Ahmad Dar of Rawalpora.
The delegation was led by Molvi Bashir Ahmad.
In a statement to KNS, Shah while expressing condolence and sympathy with the bereaved family said, "I can very well feel the pain and plight of the family and thousands of those families whose dear ones have been subjected to enforced disappearances."
Praying in favor of the Shaheed, Shabir Ahmad Shah said thousands of families in Jammu and Kashmir have to have such situation as they are not told the whereabouts of their near and dear ones.
Commenting on the police report regarding Shaheed Manzoor Dar, Shah said he was picked up by forces Commander Major Kishore in broad daylight and was killed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"Even nobody knows where his body was taken. No one knows anything about him.""There are thousands of such examples where forces picked up people and didn't return their bodies. The human rights bodies should now stop acting as mute spectators and make these forces accountable for their crimes," he said.
Shabir Ahmad Shah also prayed for speedy recovery of the ailing Hurriyat (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani.
As such, a delegating led by Molvi Bashir Ahmad visited Geelani Sahib's residence she enquired about his health.
The delegation also visited Batamaloo to express condolence with Muslim League's Bilal Ahmad Khan on the sad demise of his brother, Farooq Ahmad Khan and prayed for the heavenly abode of the deceased. (KNS)
