Srinagar, June 12 (KNS): The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK), in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police, on Friday affixed court-issued proclamation notices at the residence of a wanted terrorist in north Kashmir's Bandipora district after a special court declared him a proclaimed offender in a militancy-related case.

Officials said the notices were pasted at the residence of Sher Mohammad alias Bahadur alias Riyaz in Malangam village of Bandipora and at prominent public places in the area following orders issued by the Court of the Additional Sessions Judge TADA/POTA and Special Judge designated under the NIA Act, Srinagar.

Sher Mohammad, believed to be operating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), is wanted in connection with FIR No. 05/1996 registered at Counter Intelligence Kashmir, Srinagar.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The court also declared three other accused as proclaimed offenders — Mohammad Yousuf Shah alias Syed Salahuddin of Budgam, Ghulam Nabi Khan alias Amir Khan of Anantnag, and Nasir Yousuf Qadri of Srinagar.

According to officials, the accused face charges under various provisions of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the Enemy Agents Ordinance.

The court observed that repeated efforts to execute warrants against them had failed as they were absconding and evading arrest.

The proclaimed offenders have been directed to appear before the court on July 14, 2026. Failure to comply with the court's directions could lead to further legal proceedings under the relevant provisions of law, officials said.(KNS).
