Srinagar, June 5 (KNS): Four people were killed in a road accident in Ramban area of Srinagar-Jammu highway.

 The accident happened when a cab skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge, an official said.

The cab was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar and the accident took place near Khuni Nallah around 9.45 am when its driver lost control over the vehicle, the officials said.

A team of rescuers, including police, Army and local volunteers, swung into action soon after the vehicle rolled down over 500 feet from the highway into Bishlari stream.

Three people, including a woman, were found dead on the spot and two others were rescued in a critical condition, an official said. 

One of the injured succumbed at the district hospital Ramban shortly after admission, the official said. (KNS)
