Srinagar, Dec 31 (KNS): Militants on Sunday launched a predawn attack on CRPF camp in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, killing four CRPF personnel, three militants and two other troopers suffered bullet wounds.
Sources revealed to KNS that at least three heavily armed militants hurled grenades and stormed the 185th battalion camp of the Central Reserve Police Force in Lethpora Pulwama in the dead of the night around 2am.
The personnel on sentry duty returned fire, and a gun battle between the two sides erupted. As per the reports, three CRPF personnel died of bullet wounds and the fourth due to a cardiac arrest during the operation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe injured troopers were rushed to a hospital, where their condition is said to be stable.
After their infiltration, the militants were holed up in a building block at the camp --- from where they opened fire at the forces before being gunned down. The main building at the camp comprises three blocks. Block 1 is used to accommodate the families of officials.
Block 3, which has a hospital and a control room, was hit by the militants, the CRPF said in a statement. IGP Kashmir Muneer Ahmed Khan told KNS ": four CRPF men and three militants have been killed so for and operation is still continuing.” (KNS)
