Srinagar, Aug 24(KNS): The Former Faculty Forum, comprising former faculty members of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, Government Degree College (GDC) Srinagar, SKIMS Soura and SKIMS Medical College Bemina, has elected a new body for a three-year term.
The elections were held during the General Body meeting of the forum at Sarovar Portico, Humhama, Srinagar, where the newly elected body formally took charge and outlined its vision and priorities for the coming three years.
The forum, which came into existence in 2008, has remained engaged in various academic and social initiatives and campaigns over the years.
As part of its future plans, the forum intends to launch an official website aimed at documenting the rich medical history of Kashmir and preserving the contributions of medical professionals and institutions to the region's healthcare sector.
The proposed website will also provide health advisories for the general public, including guidance on geriatric health and other issues of public health importance, members said.
The forum said the initiative would serve as a platform for sharing reliable health information and documenting the region's medical heritage for future generations.(KNS).
