Forest Protection Force seizes three horses, timber worth lakhs in Shopian

Srinagar, May 4 (KNS): Forest Protection Force seized 3 horses, timber worth lakhs of rupees in Shopian Forest Division.

As per official statement, during the intervening night of 3rd and 4th of May, 2021, the FPF party from Shopian gamma unit laid a Naka at three different places of Romshi Range. During the operation, three horses laden with 35no's of illicit Fir timber measuring to the tune of 64.36 Cft were seized at Kralacheck Shadimarg road of Roomshi Range.The criminal case has been registered against the smugglers involved in the forest crime, reads the statement issued to KNS.

Pertinent to mention that on 1st of May, 2021, employees of Shopian Forest Division were brutally attacked by smugglers when they were on routine night patrolling in Mitrigam Pulwama. They were attacked with stones and sticks, two of the forest officials were beaten and Government Vehicle was also damaged by the attackers. (KNS)
