Baramulla, Apr 08 (KNS): Forest Protection Force Baramulla seized a vehicle with illicit timber during the intervening night of 7/8 April 2018.
As per details upon receiving specific input tonight at 2:00 am about movement of timber smugglers, immediately FPF Baramulla set up nakas at various check points in Baramulla town including near Bawli, Kanil Bagh area in Baramulla Forest Range of JV Forest Division.
An Santro car bearing registration No DL6CA: 9709 moving suspiciously in this area at 2:00 am was directed to stop by alert FPF personnel but the car stopped some distance away from the Naka point and the two smugglers escaped under the cover of darkness through the nearby locality.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelUpon vehicle search, it was found loaded with illicit timber Kail (fresh logs) 2 Nos: 7 cfts. Registration documents were missing from the car.
An case FIR has been lodged in this offence case and confiscation proceedings initiated in the case. The vehicle ownership is being got verified through RTO concerned.
Joint Director Forest Protection Force Kashmir Irfan Ali Shah(IFS) said “this is the fourth vehicle seized by Forest Department in a row in the last fifteen days in North Kashmir. We have intensified our night surveillance in North Kashmir and kept our force on alert. We are preparing PSA Dossiers against involved culprits". (KNS)
