Kulgam, Dec 30 (KNS): Police and Army on Wednesday apprehended an SPO who had gone missing along with his service rifle from south Kashmir's Kulgam.

According to police spokesperson, a joint CASO was launched by Kulgam Police and 34RR in the village Hanger Behibagh on a specific input regarding presence of deserted Special Police Officer (SPO) who decamped with 01 AK 47 Rifle on 22.12.2020 from Police Post Frisal.

He said the deserted SPO was apprehended alongwith arms and ammunition recovered from his possession.

In this connection a case FIR No. 155/2020 U/S 409 IPC, 30 Police Act, 3 PEPO, 18, 38, 39 ULAP Act has been registered in Police Station Yaripora and further investigation has been initiated, he added. (KNS)
