Baramulla, Jan 29 (KNS): A spine surgery was performed in District Hospital Baramulla on 27 January, which becomes the first such surgery to have been performed in a peripheral health institution in North Kashmir in public sector.
A patient with Burst Fracture of L1 vertebra was operated at DH Baramulla using Pedicle Screw Fixation(D12 to L2).
The procedure was performed by orthopaedic team including Dr Nisar Ahmad Dar, Dr Shah Nisar Ahmad and theatre assistant M H Geelani and his team, and anaesthetist Dr Muzamil Ahmad.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The patient is doing well and will be discharged soon.
This is the first time such an advanced spine surgery has been performed in North Kashmir. Civil society of Baramulla has appreciated the efforts taken by Director Health services Dr Saleem ur Rehman and Medical Superintendent DH Baramulla Dr Syed Masood for making such surgeries possible in North Kashmir.
