Floriculture Gardens & Parks Department, takes-over 12 Number of Gardens & Parks previously being maintained by J&K Bank Ltd

Srinagar, June 24: (KNS) In an encouraging move, the Floriculture, Gardens and Parks Department, J&K, is taking over 12 numbers of Gardens and Parks comprising of 1029 Kanals of land for their future maintenance and development. These gardens and parks were previously being maintained by J&K Bank Ltd, under CSR mode. These parks include the prime spots of tourist attractions viz: Iqbal Park and Badamwari Garden in Srinagar district.

 

While talking about the development, the Commissioner/ Secretary to Government Floriculture, Gardens & Parks Department, Sheikh Fayaaz Ahmed has stated that the Department of Floriculture, Gardens & Parks Department is the prime Department for developing, maintaining and beautifying gardens and parks in the entire Union Territory of J&K. 

 

He has further said that “The department has got the best skilled manpower to maintain and beautify the gardens and parks under their jurisdiction in the best possible manner”.

 

Out of 12 No. of Parks being taken over from J&K Bank Ltd., (07) seven number of parks are located at different places of district Anantnag which are as under:

Amusement Park Pahalgam,

Hikers Park Pahalgam, 

Lidder Vew Park Pahalgam, 

Gulistan Wazirbagh Park, 

Rani Bagh Park,

Darashiko Park Bijbehara 

and Padshahibagh  Park Bejbehara.

 

Simultaneously (02) two such prestigious garden/parks i.e Iqbal Park and Badam-wari garden in Srinagar and (01) one park each in Pulwama, Baramulla, and Jammu districts. are also being taken over by Floriculture, Gardens & Parks Department for their better maintenance. These parks include;

Shaheed Park Pulwama

Gulnar Park in Baramullah 

 Rajinder Children’s Park in Jammu. (KNS)
