DODA, JULY 20 (KNS):  : District Development Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma along with SSP Abdul Qayoom, on Wednesday rushed to Kahare  tehsil to take stock of  the situation  in the flash flood hit area.

 It was reported that there was no loss of human life. "Damages have occurred to some houses, a private school building, while  Government TRC building suffered partial damage due to the flash flood triggered by incessant rains" the local administration informed the visiting team. The floods have also affected essential services, while assessment of damage was underway.

The DDC directed the SDM and other concerned officials to immediately assess and report the damages occurred to the public and private property for providing  timely relief.

The DDC directed the local administration to immediately start restoration of the roads and services affected by the flood.

 Besides, he directed SDM, Tehsildar, ExEn PMGSY and ExEn PWD to camp at the site till the restoration process was completed.

Meanwhile,  SDM and Tehsildar Thathri have been supervising the restoration measures and redressing the grievances of those affected from early morning.

The DDC, while interacting with the locals, urged them to remain extra vigilant in the ongoing rainy season and adhere to the instructions/advisories issued  by different departments.

Among others accompanying the DDC were, DDC Councilor Kahara, BDC Chairperson Kahara and key officers of different departments.

DIPR Cultural wing organises cultural program on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

JAMMU, JULY 20: A Cultural program on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was today organised by the Cultural Wing of Department of Information and Public Relations, Jammu here at Sprawling Buds ICSE School Chinor.

Chairperson of the school, Arti Sharma was the Chief Guest, while Seema Sharma was guest of honour.

During the programme students of school presented group songs, speech and solo songs on patriotism. They sang patriotic numbers like Mera Mulk Mera Desh, Aye Mere Vatan ke Logo and Sandese aate hain which were highly appreciated by the audience.

The  Artists of Cultural Wing of Information Department Jammu Vijay Anand, Kamal Kumar, Surjit Singh, Banti Kumar, Balbir Singh and Mohinder Kumar  also presented a colourful Cultural program. (KNS)
