First meeting of PMC regarding conservation of Mughal Garden Shalimar and Nishat held in Jammu

Jammu, Nov 16 (KNS): First meeting of Project Monitoring Committee regarding conservation and restoration works of Mughal Garden Shalimar and Nishat was held on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of Commissioner Secretary to Government, Floriculture, Parks and Gardens Department at Civil Secretariat, Jammu.

As per a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the meeting was attended by representatives of JSW Foundation and members of Project Monitoring Committee.

“In the meeting, a detailed presentation was given by Abha Narain Lambha, Consultant JSW Foundation. During presentation, a threadbare discussion regarding Conservation and Restoration works to be undertaken in Mughal Garden Shalimar was held,” reads the statement.

It reads that the works identified for Conservation and Restoration in the garden viz; Pink Pavilion, Black Pavilion, Noor Mahal and Maids quarters were discussed in detail.

“Further, up-gradation of the Central Vista of the Garden, Fountains, Water Bodies, Water Channels, Watch Towers and other structural components were also discussed. The Comprehensive Conservation Plan presented by the Consultant JSW Foundation was unanimously agreed by the Members of Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) in the first instance,” it reads.
