Srinagar, Feb 28 (KNS): Inhabitants of Zaffar Colony locality of Natipora in Srinagar district have expressed resentment against district administration for failing to repair defunct drainage system in the area.

Locals told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the faulty drainage system inundates the entire locality even by a few millimeters of rainfall.

They alleged that it is a flood-like situation in Natipora locality as the accumulated water that overflows from faulty drain, directly enters into their houses. "Our lawns have turned into ponds."

The aggrieved residents said that the authorities concerned have failed to repair the faulty drainage system in the area, thus leaving them to lurch at large.

“There is no proper drainage system while the concerned department has miserably failed to take any step in this regard,” the residents said, adding that they approached the concerned department many times but nothing has been done in this regard.

Meanwhile, they appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and help redress their grievances at an earliest. (KNS)
