Customers of different banks in the valley, particularly in Srinagar city, Friday faced inconvenience in drawing money from automated teller machines (ATMs) to buy necessities for the celebration of Eidul fitr.
Many people who spoke to KNS on Friday said that most of the ATMs in Srinagar city don’t dispense money for one reason or the other. “Among the messages shown by faulty ATMs were ‘out of cash, sorry for inconvenience, ATM is closed for maintenance work, link is down, service is not available, and your transaction could not be completed this time,” one of the customer who was waiting outside the ATM at Bagahat Barzullah told KNS.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
A government employee Mudasir Ahmad could not get his salary due to ATM problem. “Though my account was debited, but i could not get the amount due to inconvenience of ATM,”
Another customer, Shabir Ahmed, standing in a queue for drawing money from the automated teller machines of a public sector bank at Lalchock, said the automated teller machines of JK Bank’s were in a pathetic condition. “They mostly remain out of order and those who were functional witness long queues,” he said.
