Srinagar, Sep 23 (KNS): The secretary Tourism/Floriculture, Farooq A shah Friday visited Leh and Kargil areas to take stock of the ongoing developmental works in the tourism sector.
The secretary was briefed about the status of different projects in the tourism sector and was updated about the potential of Ladakh region for adventure tourism, Budhist circuits and monastic tourism circuit.
Secretary while speaking at the concluding ceremony of Leh festival assured the audience including the CEO"s of Tourism development authorities of Leh, Kargil and Zanskaar that the tourism potential of the said region will be utilized to the fullest and the same will be promoted at national and international level.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that from January this year around two lakh twenty thousand tourists have visited Ladakh upto August end 2016 which was only one lakh forty-six thousand in the year 2015 .
The secretary urged the CEO"s, other Tourism officials to work hard and complete the tourism projects on time to realise the dream of visionary Mufti Muhammad Sayeed to make Jammu and Kashmir as one of the best tourist destination in the world. (KNS)
