Says NC’s only mission is to grab power by hook or crook

Srinagar, Dec 06 (KNS): Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Tuesday said the recent remarks of NC president Dr. Farooq Abdullah have made it clear that his party doesn’t want peace and can go to any extreme to achieve power.
According to KNS correspondent, Mufti on the sidelines of a function here at Indoor Stadium told media persons that “Farooq Sahab told his workers to support the Hurriyat which proves that NC can go to any extent for the sake of power”.
She claimed that NC was involved in “criminal activities” for the last five months where some people damaged vehicles, burnt schools and attacked security camps.
“Now with normalcy slowly restoring, children going to schools and tourism started picking up, Farooq Sahab directs his workers to spoil the situation in the Valley. They (NC) don’t want to let the situation improve,” Mehbooba said.
“Omar Abdullah was himself external affairs (Mos) in the BJP led government. He would speak against Pakistan on both national and international forums that Pakistan be declared a terrorist state.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe NCs sole motive is to get power,” she said.
She said it is the same Farooq Abdullah who would once say that “bombard Pakistan and throw Hurriyat leaders into river Jhelum”.
“He has now started singing different tunes. NC can play with any ones’ life even with the lives of women and children to get power,” said the chief minister.
The PDP chief said NC over the decades was not part of any peoples’ movement but they were always with one movement that is how to achieve power.
Pertinent to mention that Farooq Abdullah on Monday threw his weight behind the united Hurriyat leadership, who are spearheading the present unrest, saying it is not about whether “he is with or against the Hurriyat”, but they are with the people in the “ongoing movement”.
“We are with you and not against you. We have given our entire lives for this movement. People are demanding their rights and NC is with the people in this movement,” he had said. (KNS)
