Ganderbal February 09 (KNS): On 08-02-2024 at evening Police Station Kangan received information through reliable sources that some persons are moving in suspicious manner at Kijpara, behind Dumping Park.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal *Shri Sandeep Gupta-IPS,* a special Police team was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Kangan *Shri Muzaffar Jan-JKPS,* led by SHO Kangan Shri Turk Zahoor. Acting swiftly Police party raided the spot & apprehended 12 persons who were roaming in suspicious conditions. During the search of apprehended persons and vehicles used by accused persons for commission of crime, 30 Bundles of Rs 50000 each, which constitutes a total Rs 1500000 fake currency Notes of (Children Bank) & total cash of Rs 56600 (Indian currency) were recovered & seized on spot.
Moreover, It is pertinent to mention that 05 vehicles used in the commission of the crime have also been seized on the spot, bearing Registration. No’s JK15-4533 (Alto- K10), JK18B-2652 (Baleno), JK18D-3543 (Alto-K10), JK01AU-5420 (I-20) & PB01A-9585 (Etios) and the identity of 12 accused persons is disclosed as Riyaz Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Ahmad Mir

In this regard, Case FIR No. 08/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Kangan & further investigation is in progress.
The Prompt action by Ganderbal Police has been appluaded by the general public. The efforts of J&K Police in curbing social crimes shall continue in future & we assure general public to eliminate such evils & menaces from the society and people are requested to refrain from illegal activities and inform Police about such crimes.(KNS)
