Facing neglect, Anantnag to witness dawn of development soon: Veeri

Minister urges people to vote for Mehbooba in Assembly by-polls

Anantnag, June 20 (KNS): Senior PDP leader and Minister for Public Works & Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehmaan Veeri today said that south Kashmir’s Anantnag constituency has been neglected on all the fronts by previous regime.
The Minster while addressing a series of public meetings at PrakashPora, TeliPora, Checher Pora, Check-e-Kamad, Fateh Pora, Muniward and Seetan areas of the constituency, appealed the voters to come out in huge numbers and exercise their franchise in favor of PDP’s candidate, Mehbooba Mufti.
“All the previous regimes totally ignored the Anantnag constituency,” Veeri told people at the gatherings. “There was deep bias toward this area when its development is concerned. This historically and culturally rich constituency was ignored on all the fronts,” he said.
Veeri said that the PDP under the leadership of Late Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed has launched various developmental initiatives for the benevolence and betterment of the people of Anantnag.
“Now Mehbooba ji has stood up to fulfill the dreams and vision of her late father,” Veeri said. “PDP will take all the possible measures to bring Anantnag up into the developmental map of the State,” he added.
Veeri said that his party was committed to the welfare people. He said the party as a part of the coalition government in the State was working tirelessly to implement its ‘Welfare Agenda’ and added that weather in or out of the power; the PDP has stood by the people of the State and never compromised on their interests. “We have stood by the people in bad times and we will continue to represent them whatever it takes us or costs us,” he said. “Welfare of people was a highest priority for Late Mufti sahib and his daughter and current Chief Minister is under an oath now to fulfill all his dreams.”
Veeri said that the people of Anantnag would give decisive reply to divisive forces in the Assembly bypolls. “The opposition is trying to divide the people in the name of various non-existent issues but people of Anantnag are mature enough and they will never allow such forces to succeed,” said Veeri.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Veeri said that it was a dream of late Chief Minister Mufti Muhammed Sayeed to make Anantnag a model constituency in every sphere of life and he took number of initiatives in this regard. “The Present government under Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is taking forward the mission of progress and development started by Late Mufti Mohammed Syed,” said Veeri.
While highlighting the historic work done by Peoples Democratic Party, Veeri said that number of developmental projects has been taken up in the Anantnag and people are already cherishing the fruits of historic development.
“People of Anantnag are politically mature enough to understand the mechanizations of the opposition parties who during their long tenure have not done anything tangible to the district besides promoting their own cronies,” he said.
Seeking a clear mandate for his party, Veeri asserted that Assembly by-polls of Anantnag constituency would be a unique opportunity for the people to continue the good governance started by PDP.
He said that the emergence of People’s Democratic Party as a credible alternate provides a unique opportunity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to invest in the vision of development, prosperity and peace. “Earlier it used to be single dominant party, which had developed monopoly and exploited people for its own political and vested interest but today the people have a choice to accept and reject political parties on the basis of performance and vision,” he said.
Veeri said that the opposition parties are restoring to mislead the people of the area by false propaganda but the people are mature enough to understand their game plan and would give a befitting reply to them by voting en-masse for the party. He appealed the people to exercise their franchise in favour of the PDP which has always stood for projecting the cause of Kashmiris before various fora. (KNS)
