Says genocide being carried out for upcoming UP election to divert attention from real issues

Jammu, Nov 16 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said that it was extremely distressing to see a house owner and a young doctor getting killed during an enounter in Hyderpora area of Srinagar late last evening.

Addressing a party convention at Jammu, Mehbooba said that the family of the house owner has claimed that he was used as a human shield. "It is extremely disturbing as innocent people are losing lives due to the security lapses by the forces, besides giving irrelevant explanations to innocent killings."

"I don’t know on what basis they were killed but it is extremely distressing that during an encounter police have also killed innocent civilians. A young doctor got killed. What was his crime, by giving explanations the two deceased couldn’t be brought back," she said.

Mehbooba said that the authorities only know how to kill innocent people. "What are they doing about the current issues through which the entire country is suffering. What about the rising unemployment and farmers protest. Have they got any any explanation for that," she questioned.

She sais that with each passing day government is continuing its genocide as Uttar Pradesh elections are on verge and during elections the government will have no answers about how many people got jobs, setting up of factories etc. "So they are diverting the attention towards these killings and carrying out genocides on religious grounds. From Tripura to Maharashtra to Kashmir, government is carrying out its divide and rule policy only for upcoming UP elections," she claimed.

Mehbooba said that the entire nation wherever Hindu-Muslim brotherhood is prevalent, the centre government is trying to split that bond also. "Youth should be aware that there is a politics of divide and rule going on. We should not let them succeed in dividing Hindus and Muslims. Government is answerable to every citizen of jammu about the employment being provided to the youth," she said.

She also said that every person has the right to know that after the abrogation of article 370 how many jobs were provided to citizens of Jammu and Kashmir in comparison to those who live outside J&K. (KNS)
