Srinagar, Feb 27 (KNS): The ex-employees who were working for the NHPC power project through a private firm on Monday staged protest at Boniyar area of Uri against the government for ‘failing to mention them in the recently publicized list.’
According to the KNS correspondent, Nadeem Khawaja, the protesters assembled on the road and chanted slogans against the government.
They said that the government recently publicized a list of 1719 employees who were working for the project, the work that started in the year 1989 and concluded in the year 1996.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The 1719 employees have been awarded by the government with hefty amount. But it is unfortunate that we were also the part of that work and have been ignored by the government,” the protesters said.
They said that the government must not ignore them and should also reward them like 1719 employees. “We were the part of the project and must not be ignored” they said.
The protesters later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
