Srinagar, June 21 (KNS): Over 2000 families residing on the banks of river Chenab in the villages Gehar, Indri Bakoor and Dattyal in Khour block are under threat of flood as government has failed to take protection measures by not laying embankments.
Former Dy CM Tara Chand who conducted two days tour of the three villages assured to the public today that he will take up the matter with the concerned departments to ensure that their houses can be saved from the floods.
Hundreds of kanals of fertile land has been eroded thus depriving the public of their livelihood, Tara pointed out.
Government has not given any compensation to such families, Tara said, appealing to the release funds to compensate the families who have lost their fertile land.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
