Every J&K resident is not a terrorist: Omar Abdullah on Delhi blast

Srinagar, Nov 12 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that not every resident of Jammu and Kashmir should be labeled a terrorist, while stressing that those responsible for the Delhi blast must be punished.

“Every resident of Jammu and Kashmir is not a terrorist. Every resident of Jammu and Kashmir is not involved in terrorist activities,” Abdullah said, adding that only a small number of individuals are responsible for disturbing peace and communal harmony in the region.

He warned that branding every resident as a terrorist makes it difficult to maintain societal stability.

Abdullah reiterated that those involved in recent terror incidents must face punishment, but innocent residents should not be targeted.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Referring to past actions against educated professionals, he questioned the dismissal of a university professor without proper investigation. “If there was evidence against him, why wasn’t the case taken to court? Why was he only dismissed?” he asked, according to KNS.

Abdullah said that responsibility for security rests with the relevant agencies, while the government and citizens can work together to maintain peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir.(KNS).
