While inaugurating the party's Kulgam office, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) secretary general Moulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari stressed upon its representatives and activists to remain vigilant of every development and aspect of ongoing freedom movement. He urged members to strengthen public relations on ground level and exhibit strong unity among themselves.
Tari was accompanied by Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi,Er Farooq Ahmad Khan, district president Bashir Ahmad Wani and other representatives and activists.On the occasion, Moulana Tari asserted that the freedom movement of Kashmiris is not prejudicial or against any nation and people but "a fight for seeking our birth right of self-determination"."India has forcibly and illegally occupied our territory, usurped our basic right of freedom and we fight for regaining the same," Tari said. Continuing, DFP secretary general said, "Every freedom movement of the world has succeeded and we too should continue our struggle with the same hope. "The reign of terror is being unleashed in very nook and corner of the Valley. "He urged party members and activists to "be with people at the hours of grief" and "never let their sacrifices go waste at any cost".
Meanwhile, on the directions of party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah, a delegation led by Bashir Ahmad Shah today visited Jhelum Valley Hospital to enquire the health of Sajad Ahmad Mir who was severely injured by police beating. The party spokesperson while strongly condemning the "brutal" act said the police and Indian army have surpassed every record of inflicting tyranny and brutality upon the people. "It's extremely unfortunate and shameful that Kashmir Police is going berserk over its own people. This police is highly encouraged by Indian policy makers and local rulers and that is why they are filling the prisons with their own people."
