Vakil stressed on immediate compensation to fruit growers for the damges caused due to Covid and natural calamities

Srinagar Sep 08: (KNS) Peoples Conference, Senior Vice President and former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil  today stressed upon the government on upliftment of fruit industry as fruit-growers are passing through turbulent times because of present economic crisis and are indebted to different banks. Waiving-off KCC loans is long pending demand of fruit growers and has not been fulfilled till today by different governments in power including the present government although assured many times. He said that number of fruit growers, including those from Rafiabad area, are still waiting for compensation damages caused due to Covid and natural calamities in last three years but nothing has been done in this regard so far
Vakil demanded and emphasised for establishing cold storage facility at Fruit Mandi Sopore along with a Juice Factory on modern lines with latest technology inorder to boost up and rejuvenate fruit industry which is at the verge of collapse. He said some areas of Rafiabad like Bosnia  Mundaji and Hamam deserves to be developed keeping in view the serene and beauty of the area. Vakil was addressing workers meet at Hib Dangerpora Rafiabad today.
Terming unemployment as a serious concern, Vakil insisted to focus towards the alarming problem, so that youth should not get frustrated and play in hands of enemies.
Vakil appealed the youth not to become prey of drug menace as it would be at the cost of their lives every effort has to be made by government social and religious organisations to fight this menace inorder to save younger generation from getting ruined.
