Banihal, Nov 23 (KNS): While kicking off three day Chenab Valley visit, Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) President and MLA Langate Engineer Rashid addressed massive Public gatherings at Chanderkot and Banihal.
Engineer Rashid stated that successive governments have neglected the development of Chenab and Pir Panjal Regions.
Engineer Rashid stated - "While coffers are thrown open for development of Leh region without any justification the Chenab and Pir Panchal regions are being left out and even basic amenities not provided to masses. The companies like NHPC and JP Associates are selfishly exploiting the natural resources of Chenab region .This Month in this region Prime Minister Inaugurated Baghilar Project but the JP Associates which executed the Baglihar Project, violated all the labour laws and badly exploited employees.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe management of the said company is acting like East India Company and is trying to cancel all the agreements made with hundreds of employees unilaterally with the full support of State and Central Govt." Er Rashid added that successive govts have exploited the sufferings of people of Chenab valley. He said “ if Leh and Kargil could get Hill Development Councils, What stops govt. from providing same councils for Chenab and Pir Panchal regions to ensure equitable development”.
Er Rashid reiterated his demand of establishing one prestigious institution from IIT, IIM and AIIMS each at Pir Panchal, Chenab and Jammu regions.
