Er Rasheed not allowed to visit Kalakote: Spokesman

‘May boycott upcoming Assembly session’

Srinagar, Dec 23 (KNS): AIP has strongly condemned the state government for not allowing Er Rasheed to visit Chenab valley and Kalakoot.
In a statement to KNS, Party spokesman Inam-Un-Nabi has termed the action undemocratic and unconstitutional and accused Mufti government of suppressing the voice of political opponents to hide the shameful failures and anti people policies of the Sung Parivar led government.
It is worth to mention that Er Rasheed was detained near Batote on way to Doda for whole of the last night and was forced by heavy contingent of police and CRPF to remain confined to his vehicle for hours together late till night.
However Wednesday morning when Er Rasheed started his journey towards Kalakote to offer condolences to family of Ishtiyaq Chowdhri who was murdered by VDC terrorist, was again detained by heavy contingent of police at Patnitop and was deported back to Srinagar in heavy presence of heavy police and other Para military forces.
Spokesman added, “There is no justification to the treatment being given to Er Rasheed and current government is itself creating communal divide for the pity vote bank politics.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
If Mufti can visit Downtown against the wishes of the people and Modi can address a forcibly arranged gathering in Srinagar and thus create law and order problem, why Er Rasheed an elected representative visit Chenab valley can’t or Pir Panchal region on the invitation of prominent citizens and other social and religious organisations.”
Spokesman further said that if government does again create hurdles in Er Rasheed’s visit to Chenab valley and Pir Panchal region in coming few days, he may prefer to boycott the upcoming Assembly session as Mufti led government is keen bent to destroy democratic institutions.
Party spokesman appealed people of Chenab valley and Pir Panchal region, who strongly protested the police action, to remain calm and maintain communal harmony. (KNS)
