Srinagar, June 09 (KNS): Independent legislator from Langate and AIP chairman, Er Abdul Rashid Thursday said in the Lower House that his name has been included in the Below Poverty list for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution.
“The Tehsildar concerned has included my name in the BPL list. I complained about it to the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, but no action was taken against the official concerned,” Rasheed said.
Rasheed spoke after Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation Basharat Bukhari informed the Lower House that Tehsildar Khour has been suspended for “including” the BJP legislator from Chamb in Akhnoor Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat in the BPL list.
“Tehsildar Khor has been suspended today for submitting wrong list of BPL list to the CAPD department,” Bukhari said.

Bukhari replied that the Teshsildar Langate will be suspended after verification of the complaint.
“If you are right, then the Tehsildar will be suspended,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, some opposition legislators created uproar over discrepancies in their constituencies.
CAPD minister Choudhary Zulfkar Ali informed the House that the suspension has been ordered to send a message to the officers on the ground that mistakes would not be tolerated.
“There can be errors in the lists because the data involves a huge population of the state. But we will ensure that the list is 100 per cent correct,” the minister said. (KNS)
