Srinagar March 16 (KNS):  The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir Wednesday emphasized that the issue of laying of water pipeline from Veerinag spring  must be settled amicably.
Mir also said that supplying drinking water to every household is paramount, so the administration need to ensure that there is no confusion on account of water supply either in Dooru or in Verinag. 
 
JKPCC President said the imposition of section 144 in Dooru Veerinag in the backdrop of laying of water supply pipes from Veerinag Spring needs to be settle down amicably by involving representatives from booth Dooru & Veerinag inorder to address this issue, besides addressing other apprehensions concerning people.
Amicable solution to this pressing issue would be the only way out to ensure that drinking water reaches every household, which is most essential part for living, JKPCC President added.
 
The administration must devise a mechanism to ensure supply of drinking water and for irrigation facilities to both the areas (Veerinag Dooru), equally from Veerinag Spring, besides the fish production in Veerinag itself & other ponds must be preserved to ensure that tourism of the area would not be affected due to dearth  of water supply.
Pertinently,earlier the construction of water reservoir was also in the pipeline where the water would be stored and supplied to both the  areas, but  that has not been executed, so far, JKPCC President said.
 
Mir said time has come when the administration must take effective measures to construct water reservoir where the good quantity of water is stored from Veerinag spring, subsequently the same is supplied to  people, besides the agriculture & horticulture sectors are also taken care.
 
Though people of Dooru already get the supply, but there are apprehensions in the minds of people in Veerinag that their agriculture land or orchards won’t get the required supply due to extending pipes from Verinag Spring, which has to be addressed,on priority basis, Ghulam Ahmad Mir urged.(KNS)
