Prominent Youth activists join NC in Ukharhal

Banihal, Jan 02 (KNS): National Conference leader and District president Ramban Sajjad Shaheen held a meeting of workers at Ukharhal which was attended by prominent functionaries and office bearers of Pogal-Paristan block of the party.

While speaking in the day long meeting, the speakers highlighted various issues confronted to people living in their respective areas related to their day today needs particularly lack of basic facilities and other related public issues during the ongoing winter. 

Sajjad Shaheen while addressing the meeting said that the people across the constituency are facing extreme shortage of electricity and lack access to clean portable drinking water. The District president also expressed concern over defunct utility services and dilapidated condition of roads, especially in hilly areas, saying these have accumulated the problems of common people.

He further said that the power and drinking water supply is in disarray while scarcity of food grains at the CAPD depots continues to remain a constant irritant, adding that the Administration seems to be missing at the ground level as a result of which the people remain at receiving end. 

Referring to the unscheduled power cuts during the ongoing harsh winter in the entire Ramban District particularly in Banihal and it's far off areas Shaheen said that people have been facing long hours of unscheduled power cuts which has added to the people's problems.

Shaheen said that the residents of Banihal and it's adjoining areas that include Mahu, Mangit, Khari, Nadika, Trigam, Kumbla, Buzla, Srachi, Hinjhal, Fagow, Tethar, Chareel, Nowgam, Chachal, Neel, Chaknarwah, Chamalwas, Lamber, Ashar, Kaskoot, Zinhal, Wanpora, Shagan, Hingni, Zonchwas, Sumar, Harog, Pogal, Maligam, Paristan, Gagarnag, Sarachi , Chaka, Sarbagni, Amkot, Bankoot, Krawa, Dooligam, Hijwa, Arimarg, Bawah, Nachlana, Thachi, Ramsoo, Ukharhal, Batroo, Dardahi and other parts of District Ramban have been facing the brunt of the unscheduled power cuts as the PDD has failed to follow the electricity schedule as frequent power cuts have made the situation miserable for people living in these villages.

Shaheen has sought immediate attention of higher ups into the matter and demanded an end to power cuts. He has also urged upon the J&K administration to ensure adequate supplies of essentials particularly ration, sugar and kerosene oil, LPG Cylinders besides un-interrupted electricity and drinking water during the winter. 

On the occasion, several political workers belonging to various parties particularly youth besides prominent citizens joined National Conference and reposed their faith in its policies and programmes.

Welcoming the new entrants into the party-fold, Shaheen stressed upon them to work sincerely for the public welfare and convey the message of the party to every individual in their respective localities. He hoped that their joining will further strengthen the party at the grass roots level. He said National Conference has to gear up in a big way to meet the challenges faced to the people living in erstwhile state. 

Block President Pogal-Paristan Riyaz Ahmed Mir, Vice block Presidents Bahar Ahmed Naik, block Secretary Shakib ur Rehman Runyal, Haji Adul Hamid Bali, Youth leader Mohd Shafi Gorsi , besides Gulam Qadir Wani, Abdul Qayoom Wani, Abdul Hamid Khan, Wahid ur Rehman Lohar, Haji Abdul Aziz, Mushtaq Ahmed sheikh, Mujeeb ur Rehman Runyal, Abdul Jabar Katoch, Abdul Manan Katoch, Fayaz Ahmed Bali, Mushtaq Ahmed, and others also spoke in the meeting.
