Baramulla, Feb 18 (KNS) : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) district coordinator Baramulla and constituency in-charge Rafiabad Altaf Malik on Monday urged the district administration to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities during the holy month of Ramadhan, with special focus on power supply during Sehri and Iftaar hours.

In a statement, Malik said that the demand for ration, cooking gas, kerosene oil, sugar, atta, drinking water and electricity rises sharply during Ramadhan and must be addressed proactively to avoid inconvenience to the public. He emphasized that uninterrupted electricity supply during Sehri and Iftaar is crucial for households observing the fast.

The PDP leader also called for intensified and regular market checking to regulate prices and ensure quality and hygiene of eatables, including meat, chicken, vegetables and bakery items.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said strict monitoring would help curb overpricing and maintain food safety standards.

Highlighting drinking water issues, Malik demanded an increase in tanker services in areas facing inadequate water supply, particularly in Rafiabad and Zaingeer belts of Baramulla.

He further urged the administration to conduct daily sanitation and cleanliness drives around mosques, shrines, towns and market places to ensure a clean and healthy environment for commuters and worshippers during the holy month.

Malik expressed hope that the district administration would take timely measures to facilitate smooth observance of Ramadhan and provide relief to the people across the district.(KNS)
