Ending drug abuse, communal disharmony way to prosperity: Maulana Hami

Srinagar, Feb 17 (KNS): The chief patron of Karwani Islami International Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami has voiced for ending twin menaces of substance abuse and communal disharmony.

Speaking during a Friday congregation sermon, Hami insisted the current social evils in various forms have led to downfall of human values, social morality and the cherished norms of cultural ethos.

He said these persistent evils have emerged not only as brutal foes of personal lives and bonds of people, but have also shattered the socio-economic balance nurtured since ages.

“In this regard, special note should be taken by parents, wards, organisations, social associations and government across the spectrum,” he said.

While highlighting the necessity of removing these social evils, he said the teachings and practices of Sufi saints offer enormous insights into eradication of almost all evils.

He said Sufis portray the real teachings of Islam as pronounced by the Prophet of Islam (PBUH). “Therefore, it is pertinent for people to get truly attached to the Sufi path in order to achieve universal peace and freedom from the existing or forthcoming challenges,” he said. (KNS)
