Srinagar, Sep 26 (KNS) Encounter started between militants and government forces in Batpora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district, police said here on Monday.
An official said that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area. "As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight," he said.
"Encounter has started at Batpora area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet while confirming the Gunfight.(KNS)
